The CN tower
he idea of the CN Tower originated when the 1968 canadian natunal railway had a desire to build a large TV and radio communication platform to serve the Toronto area, as well as to prove the strength of Canadian industry and CN in particular. These plans evolved over the next few years, and the project became official in 1972.
The CN Tower was once lit at night with bright lights, but they were taken down in 1997, because they were inefficient and expensive to repair. In June 2007,
The CN Tower is the tallest freestanding structure in the Americas. The only other freestanding structure in the Americass to exceed 500 m (1,640.4 ft) in height is the Willis Towerr in Chicago.
